Dave Stallon has been appointed Operations Director until the next AGM in April 2018. Dave was elected FSB’s Commercial Director in 2016 and has been an active member of FSB for 20 years. For the last 10 years, Dave has served as National Councillor and Director for FSB. He was elected as Honorary National Secretary in 2010. He previously held the position of Operations Director in 2015.
As Honorary National Secretary, Dave was instrumental in helping to drive through changes within FSB to modernise key aspects of its internal and external operation. This included, in 2015, the very visible changes to FSB’s website and brand, and setting in motion major reforms to FSB’s internal governance; changes that helped to bring about a more flexible and agile organisation.
Dave has a solid background in mechanical engineering and brings hands on experience of running a high tech engineering business. He has worked at a senior level in a number of manufacturing companies.
He took the plunge and set up his own sub-contract engineering company nearly 25 years ago. The Plastics and Engineering Company, which is based in Gloucester, specialises in machining high precision plastic components for the Formula 1, chemical and medical industries and remains a respected employer in a high tech environment.
His reputation as an innovative engineer, problem solver and moderniser preceding him, Dave has been called upon many times by major blue chip companies to help resolve manufacturing issues. This experience, combined with his vital knowledge of every level of manufacturing, and his more than 30 years’ working at Director level in a variety of companies that makes him invaluable as the FSB’s Commercial Director.
