We're celebrating the achievements and contributions of small businesses and the self-employed across the UK.  As the largest event of its kind in the small business calendar, the high-profile FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards are free to enter and open to all.

Twelve lucky small business winning stars became regional champions at the London finals of ‘The FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards’. The finalists and winners enjoyed a celebratory lunch held on Wednesday 9 March at the prestigious One Whitehall Place within The Royal Horseguards Hotel, Westminster, and received a message of congratulations via video link from Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London.

With winners from each category securing a spot at the prestigious UK final and a chance to be crowned the UK Small Business of the Year, it’s an opportunity for widespread recognition. Entrants will be judged by a panel of leading business experts with a wealth of experience in their industry.

The FSB competition designed to find the winning businesses from across the capital was won, this year, by a wide variety of businesses including Westminster registered – ‘HydroGrow’ which is just one of the businesses that has beaten off stiff competition to be crowned FSB London’s Environmental/Sustainability Award and who were presented their Award by Cameron Scott, Innovation Engineer of UK Power Networks.

Tyl by NatWest, sponsors of the Digital/E-commerce Business of the Year Award, presented ‘Initially London’ their winner’s Award for embracing digital technology to transform a centuries-old tradition of embroidered monograms, dating back to the early Renaissance, to a modern, fun and affordable with graphic design and machine embroidery to create monograms that are more than just initials.  Initially London was originally started in Jane Wiest’s home basement and is now based in a busy studio in West London with a team of skilled creatives who design, etch and embroider, making each order as it arrives, completely bespoke.

Other winners on the day included ‘CI Projects’ who took the London Micro Business of the Year Award with its ‘go to’ consultancy vision for organisations looking to drive efficiencies, profitability and improve customer experience. Monika Ludwiczak, company founder of ‘Everlasting Brows’ has been innovating the beauty industry since 2009 in London and abroad and received the International Business of the Year Award. The Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award went to Co-Founder and Director, Abdul Shiiil of ‘Sahan Cares CIC’ – a family-run social enterprise that provides outstanding home care and support services for clients and families across West London employing 90 staff and supporting over 300 health/social care women from low-income backgrounds.

Michael Lassman, FSB London Regional Chair, said: “Congratulations to all this year’s London FSB Celebrating Small Business Award winners – stars of the London region’s small business community.

“London’s small businesses have experienced difficult times over the last two years since our last FSB Awards event. Bringing small businesses together to celebrate and recognise fantastic innovation, enterprise and accomplishments has been a very special occasion for all involved and which highlighted the importance of the SME sector to our capital city.

“The best of luck to all our London winners for the UK national award finals in May.”
