Mental Health and Productivity in SMEs

Local News 9 Nov 2023

A survey of employees working in SMEs across the UK to understand the link between employee mental health and productivity.

An estimated one in four employees will experience a mental health problem in their lifetime, with serious implications for businesses in terms of performance, absenteeism, and productivity. Small businesses, with their limited resources and tight-knit work environments, may face unique challenges when it comes to addressing mental health challenges among their employees. Queen’s Business School- in collaboration with the Universities of Nottingham, Cork, and Warwick and the Enterprise Research Centre– have received funding to conduct ground-breaking research examining the link between workplace mental health and wellbeing practices and productivity.

They would like to request your business's participation in this study. This will require you to send their brief survey to your employees to complete. In return, your business will receive an employee well-being report tailored to your organisation, and access to an online training session for your leaders based on cutting-edge research.

They firmly believe that this study will enhance our understanding of employee mental health and well-being at work, work performance, and business outcomes. They would be delighted to have your business involved in this initiative. To express your interest in participating in this ground-breaking study, please complete this form: https://nottingham.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/interest1

If you would like more information, please contact Dr Juliet Hassard at Queen’s University Belfast ([email protected]) or Dr Craig Bartle ([email protected]) at the University of Nottingham. Thank you for your consideration.
