Meet the member: Nimisha Raja, Nim’s Fruit Crisps

Nim's Fruit Crisps are a healthy snack brand stocked in stores across the UK. We caught up with founder and FSB member Nimisha Raja for a chat.

Nimisha Raja is the founder of Nim’s Fruit Crisps, a fruit and vegetable crisps manufacturer based in Kent. Nimisha recently joined FSB and has found the support invaluable during COVID-19. We spoke to Nimisha about her experience as a member and why she believes FSB is ‘well worth the investment’.

Why did you join FSB and how has FSB helped your business?

I have always wanted to join FSB, but having joined other similar organisations previously, I found that I was not using all the services either because they weren’t easily accessible or comprehensive.

I did eventually sign up through a LinkedIn connection and it’s been such a great source for all sorts of information, such as legal documents, employment contracts and regulations. It’s a brilliant resource to have as a small business owner as I can easily find templates or fire off a letter quickly.

FSB updates their website quickly and has saved me so much time reading through all the government websites as things have changed.

What advice do you have for other small businesses during this time?

With COVID-19 and the new arrangements with the EU, it’s really important to have a wider view – there’s a whole world out there! Exporting has been a challenge with the uncertainty of everything, but we made sure we were prepared and looked for advice.

As small businesses, it’s all about having the resilience to keep going. We’ll learn lessons and new ways of doing things along the way. We’ve had to stay agile and flexible with how we approach sales, like selling online direct to consumers, as hospitality and other sales routes closed.

I’d encourage you to not only become a member, but to keep using the services available. FSB is definitely a go-to for Nim’s and the first port of call for any information I need.
