Everyone knows that West Yorkshire has some great universities. What is less well known is that they are not just academic institutions but also offer a range of business support services. Universities want to help small businesses with research, innovation, training, funding and more.
With the above in mind, the West Yorkshire Academia-Industry Network was launched in July 2021 by FSB member, Dr Ruth Brown-Shepherd. Ruth has experience of both the academic and business worlds. She understands the key challenges they face and is determined to help them build the mutually beneficial relationships we all want. It has now been two years since the event launch and Ruth has effectively ensured this event has gone from strength to strength alongside co-hosts and support from FSB West Yorkshire Area Lead, Merewyn Sayers.
