Support young people

The Greater Essex Careers Hub is running the Open Doors project to support young people and provide them with meaningful experiences of the workplace.

They are looking for businesses, from across the whole of Essex, who can offer a full or half day workplace visit to a group of students from a local school.

You can:

  • Talk about your industry sector, employability skills, career pathways, etc…
  • Give a tour of your workplace
  • Introduce members of your staff and have them talk about what they do
  • Demonstrate equipment in the workplace
  • Give students a task, activity, or competition to complete

Rochford District Council Shared Prosperity Funding

The Rochford District UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) grant scheme is still open for applications.

Grants between £10k and £50k will be awarded for projects that benefit the high streets or improve the local culture/heritage offer.

The deadline for applications is Monday 25 March.

Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure in Southend

By completing this short survey by 8 May, and placing a pin on the map, your views will be collected then mapped to show where demand for electric vehicle infrastructure is highest.

Southend City Council cannot guarantee a charge point on this road, but their aim is to meet all areas of demand by providing charge points in the most convenient locations possible.

Alongside this project Southend-on-Sea City Council is looking at the EV infrastructure around the City for businesses, fleet and visitors.
