Roundup of North Somerset Business Support

Local News 23 Apr 2024

There is lots going on to support small businesses in North Somerset.

Here are a few of the things your local FSB team have picked up this month:

  • Are you looking for funding for your business? Then why not attend this “Meet the Funder” event at The Food Works SW in Weston on 30 April.
  • If you run a creative business and would like to get better at crafting winning bids then this workshop at The Stable on 24 April could be for you.
  • North Somerset Council have reopened their net zero grants programme where capital grants are available of up to £30,000 to install energy efficient measures in your business. Find out more here.
  • Weston College are seeking industry placements for their students. If you’d like some fresh , dynamic talent to work on a project in your business check out this article.
  • Want to be able to support or attract more neurodivergent staff then this Weston College workshop could be just right for helping you to put a plan in place.
  • Could your business supply film crews visiting the area? This new web page outlines how accommodation providers, caterers, transport providers, equipment rental firms, warehouses and office space and those who could help with construction and set design could tap into this potential client base. Why not consider if you could offer a new filming location to the crews too?

Just a reminder that North Somerset Council promote a lot of business support via their In North Somerset website, so it is a good idea to sign up to newsletters through that to keep up to date. The Hive also offer a wide range of funded local business support which can be found here. The West of England Growth Hub is also an important organisation to be registered with to make sure you don’t miss out on any government funded support. If you can’t find what you are looking for do contact your local Development Manager Ruth Lambert and she will do her best to help.
