FSB NI Member Spotlight: Spear & Arrow

We headed to Larne to visit the fantastic business set up by member Lynette McKendry MBE. Lynette was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer in 2015. A year later she was told the cancer had spread to her brain. Whilst she pursued the medical route for treatment, she also felt the need to look at natural ways to help herself heal from all the side effects of the various therapies. By changing her diet, going back to her roots, and having incorporated a more paleo and ancestral diet into her way of life – she continues to share her story and brand with others who need to heal their bodies and minds.

Today Spear and Arrow is a family run business established in 2020. It is a small team with a big entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for good quality food, traceability, a love of the countryside and as they say in Northern Ireland a bit of craic.

Healing after such arduous physical and mental pain is not easy but feeling inspired after remission from stage four cancer Lynette knew there was an added story to tell. Whilst researching to support her own health she came across bone broth, an ancient method to use the whole carcass of an animal and benefit from the added minerals to support the gut/brain link. From their her business Spear and Arrow has developed and she now has a number of unique products available, supplying customers across Ireland and the UK. More on her business story here.
