Mayor invests £62m to support small businesses across the capital

Local News 10 Jan 2024

Twenty-eight projects supporting small businesses across London have been funded via the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) helping to create jobs and sustain growth

In November 2023, the Mayor announced the Shared Prosperity Fund allocation to 28 projects which many are listed within the announcement.

The projects vary in type and size. For example:

  • Amplify Venture: Pan-London project offering a free two-year programme for ambitious founders and business owners seeking to scale and expand their businesses.
  • Minority Business Matters: A programme delivering solutions to challenges faced by London’s ethnic minority small businesses and freelancers when accessing public and private sectors business opportunities.
  • London E-Business Support Programme: A free package of support specifically aimed at helping business owners in London make better use of digital technology to enhance their online presence; attract more customers; increase sales and improve their business operations. This project is being delivered by a consortium led by Business for London.
  • Boosting Life Sciences Social Economy Programme: The fully funded programme is searching for people looking to start their own business in Camden or Islington – for those with the best business ideas for well-being, improvement of awareness, reducing inequalities and promoting health in the community. For this one, only 20 applicants will be selected and applications close by the end of January.

We have picked five projects but there are 23 more projects to read about here – fully funded, free programmes of support for London based small businesses.

FSB London is keen to see our members benefit from these various projects designed to help the London small business community.

Please let the FSB London Team know if you are already benefitting from one or more of the listed projects. We would really like to hear from you.
