Commenting on the news that Welsh Government will extend measures to protect businesses affected by coronavirus from eviction, Ben Francis, FSB Wales Policy Chair, said:
“Small firms will warmly welcome the steps that Welsh Government has taken to protect them from unfair evictions today.
“Extending these measures over the summer gives those firms that are only just reopening – or are still waiting to do so – a much better chance of being able to reopen successfully. Smaller businesses have faced a huge challenge over the course of the pandemic, and are only just able to reopen and start the process of getting back on their feet. Extending this protection over the summer is a positive and proactive step from Welsh Government that will enable business owners to focus on how to rebuild their business, and to work towards being able to contribute to the furlough scheme, without the threat of an unfair eviction hanging over them.”
