‘Build, build, build’ is the new ‘education, education, education’: small firms respond to Keir Starmer’s speech at Labour Party Conference

FSB responds to Keir Starmer’s speech at the Labour Party Conference

Martin McTague, National Chair of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), said:

“This overarching theme of this Labour conference has been build, build, build and that resonated well in Keir Starmer’s speech. Proposals to build the next generation of new towns will help the UK on its path to global competitiveness. This level of ambition can only be achieved by unleashing the potential of small housebuilding firms.

“A commitment in the Labour leader’s speech on technical education is the missing link in upskilling the next generation of young people.

“It is good to see small business needs front and centre of this conference, with strong commitments on late payments, business rates and building.”
