Commenting on the news of job losses at Airbus, Ben Francis, FSB Wales Policy Chair, said;
“This is extremely worrying news and emphasises the impact that coronavirus is having on the economy.
“The importance of Airbus to the North Wales economy cannot be overstated. There are families, communities, and small businesses who rely on Airbus, as does the wider regional economy.
“As the situation unfolds we hope to see full support offered, both to the staff affected and to the small firms who may also feel the effects of this move. We want to see a determined and demonstrably joined-up effort by UK and Welsh Governments in this task.
“Going forward, this demonstrates the need for supporting businesses to diversify their markets and customer base to ensure the greatest amount of business resilience”
