£500m NetZero scheme looking for South West business suppliers

Local News 22 Feb 2024

Bristol 'City Leap' project offers various opportunities for SMEs across region.

Bristol is now embarking on a massive £500 million scheme to invest in the city’s clean energy system, including solar, wind, heat networks, heat pumps and energy efficiency measures.

As well as being a massive aid to the city’s NetZero ambitions, it also means there is a real opportunity for SME businesses from the West of England and indeed the wider South West to be part of the extensive supply chain that will be needed.

The unique Bristol City Leap concept is the result of a partnership between Bristol City Council, Ameresco, and Vattenfall Heat UK and is set to create around 1,000 jobs by 2028 - and cut 150,000 tonnes of emissions.

If you have a business that thinks it could be part of the supply chain at any point then now is the time to sign up to hear about potential opportunities available.

You can find out more about the framework for supplying to City Leap here and to register your interest and look at some of the sectors/areas that may need local business support you can see and fill in the supplier form here.
