FSB has an unrivalled network right across British politics

“We are respected by all parties everywhere, and our profile continues to grow”, said FSB Director Mike Cherry, speaking at the Federation of Small Businesses’ UK conference and expo at Glasgow’s SECC.

“It has been a rollercoaster of a ride for the six years I have been privileged to lead for you on Policy. We have managed to secure some important wins for our members, due to an unrivalled network right across British politics. We engage deeply with every relevant Government Department from No 10 down, and that has stood us in good stead”.

Mike continued,“It would be remiss of me not to mention the pride I felt as FSB held our first ever dedicated Policy Conference in 2014, with the Prime Minister speaking on an FSB platform for the first time in our 40 year history”.

Mike reminded the audience about the FSB’s crucial role in securing the Employment Allowance, protection of Small Business Rate Relief, the major policy focus on broadband access and mobile connectivity and some real success on late payment. He pointed to one big highlight of 2015, when FSB unveiled “the best election manifesto of any Business Group” which quickly became “our hero document for this current parliament”.
