Exporting isn’t just big businesses putting goods on a ship and sending them around the world. There are thousands of small businesses in the UK that are going global and exporting. FSB’s research shows that one in five of our members are currently exporting while one in ten are considering exporting. Taken together, these stats highlight the significant contribution to the UK’s role in the global economy and there is potential for small firms to contribute even more.
From designers to vegan pet food producers to architects! So many of our small firms are sharing their goods and services around the globe!
So, who are the business owners behind these small firms? What are they exporting? Where are they exporting?
Our campaign tells the stories of our small businesses going global.
With COP26 fast approaching, all eyes are on us here in Glasgow. The UN Climate Change Conference, taking place between 31 October and 12 November, will attract 25,000 people to the city from across the world. Like any important global event, COP26 will cause some disruption to local residents and businesses. At the same time, the tourism and hospitality sectors in the city and beyond look likely to get a welcome boost after a very difficult year and a half.
