Abolition of Severn Crossing Tolls is only the beginning of new ways for businesses to benefit from working cross-border

Commenting on the abolition of the Severn Crossing Tolls, Ben Francis, FSB Wales Policy Chair, said:

“For the first time in 52 years the Severn Crossing is toll-free; the culmination in a long-running campaign for FSB Wales and a milestone for businesses trading in South East Wales and the West of England. We’re grateful that the Secretary of State has been a vocal and active supporter of scrapping the tolls.

“Businesses in Wales can now plan for how they will exploit the advantages of the removal of the bridge tolls.

“FSB looks forward to working closely with the Secretary of State in order to develop new ideas for how SMEs can maximise the advantages of the scrappage of the tolls. We want the abolition of the tolls to be only the beginning of new ways for businesses to benefit from working cross-border.”
