Are you Wales’ International Business of the Year?

Small businesses across Wales are making huge strides on the global stage. They are taking Wales to the world and are making a massive impact. That’s why the FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards honours these businesses under the International Business of the Year category.

The category is open to both novice and established importers and exporters. Judges will be looking for businesses that can demonstrate how working internationally has benefited their business profitability, growth and strategy.

The 2019 winner was Ruth Lee Ltd; worldwide suppliers of market leading Rescue Training Manikins and Fire Training Products. The business has been operating for over 25 years and is recognised as the clear market leader within the UK and Europe.

2019 winner and Managing Director of Ruth Lee Ltd, Paul McDonnell, said:

“Export is absolutely essential to our overall business success and to be acknowledged for the strong growth we have already experienced, amidst such strong competition at the FSB awards was fantastic.

“Wales has many outstanding businesses who operate globally and we are proud to be counted amongst some of the best and named winners in the category ‘International Business of the Year’.  It was a fantastic evening in Cardiff and a true celebration of Welsh endeavour and enterprise.”

Applications for the 2020 FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards are open now. Applications close on the 24th January, with the shortlist announced shortly thereafter. The awards ceremony will take place in Cardiff in March 2020.
