Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people, and of course the rest of the community represented within the ‘+’, who become small business owners and the self-employed, often tell us: To be themselves, they wanted to work for themselves.
Craig Beaumont, FSB Chief of External Affairs
Welcome to FSB’s LGBT+ business hub!
The reason behind setting this up is simple there was a clear gap in the market for a free online resource page for LGBT+ business owners.
The tone and inspiration in the businesses the LGBT+ community set-up has never been captured and reflected in this way before. And there are useful lessons here for non-LGBT+ entrepreneurs thinking about making their own workspaces LGBT+ friendly.
This hub is a natural evolution of other initiatives from the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB). We know small business owners value connecting to their peers and learning from shared experiences – something we see happening every day between our members in every local community across the country. Alongside our work to support women in business, ethnic minority-owned firms, and our latest project around disabled entrepreneurship, this hub is an attempt to fill the gap for LGBT+ entrepreneurs. It features free resources (including digital and physical assets), our new dedicated national networking events, and small business owners telling their stories and sharing advice.
We hope you like it and thank you to everyone that has contributed -
now, Let's Grow Business Together.
