FSB Member Stories: Susie Hamilton Stubber and Bob McDonald, Burren Balsamics

FSB Member Story 4 Jul 2022

We visited the Burren Balsamics factory in Armagh, Northern Ireland, to learn more about how Susie Hamilton Stubber and Bob McDonald produce products that make their way to national airlines.

Since 2014, Susie Hamilton Stubber and Bob McDonald have been producing infused vinegars, dressings and more at Burren Balsamics.

“We discovered that there was a gap in the market for infused balsamic vinegars and we decided to give it a go. We started the business with just four flavours. The company has grown considerably with a list of approximately 70 products altogether which range from our original vinegars to zero-food waste jams/chutneys/relishes - many of which are made from the infusing ingredients that have been previously used to make the vinegars. We are lucky enough to have Harrods as one of our stockists,” said Susie.

“By being an FSB member, we have the security of knowing that there is advice for a small business and the backing of a large organisation with expertise, which would be unreachable for a company such as ours. In addition to legal advice and debt recovery, we have also used the health and safety advice - this is extremely important as we have under five employees and therefore do not require a dedicated H&S person,” she added.
