Against a backdrop of political instability, the economy spokespeople of the five largest parties have been cross examined by journalist and broadcaster Karen Patterson as part of FSB’s Assembly election hustings.
With many big economic questions hanging over the election campaign, the DUP’s Gordon Lyons, Sinn Féin’s Caoimhe Archibald, Mike Nesbitt of the UUP, the SDLP’s Matthew O’Toole and Stewart Dickson of the Alliance Party went head-to-head in a one-hour debate.
FSB members were also given the chance to put their questions to the panel of politicians. Partnering FSB in the hustings were Women in Business and Ulster University Business School. Roseanne Kelly, CEO of Women in Business and Gareth Hetherington, Director of the Ulster University Economic Policy Centre joined Roger Pollen, Head of FSB NI, in a ‘challenge panel’ to reflect on the answers given by the parties.
