Confidence levels amongst small businesses and the self-employed in Yorkshire and the Humber and North East region have bounced back, according to our latest Small Business Index.
With trading restrictions having now eased across England and Wales, the SBI confidence measure for the region has risen to +30 in Q1 of this year, up from -46 last quarter. The region’s confidence figure stands just above the UK average of +27.3.
The SBI survey data shows that as the lockdown continued to scupper spending opportunities across the region at the beginning of the year, more than half of small firms (57%) in the region reported a decrease in revenue of the last three months.
