Tina McKenzie looks ahead to Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Week

Speaking during Northern Ireland’s first-ever ‘Apprenticeship Week’, FSB NI Policy Chair, Tina McKenzie has urged businesses and students to recognise the value in apprenticeships.

Commenting, Tina McKenzie said:

“It is very much welcome that this year, for the first time ever, Northern Ireland will have its own Apprenticeship Week.

“This provides us with the opportunity to reflect on the potential that apprenticeships offer to young people to enhance their skills, whilst also growing the workforce of the business for its longer term development.

“There is an apprenticeship to suit everyone, available at different levels, and applicable to a wide range of sectors, including retail; hospitality; construction; manufacturing and many more.

“FSB will be playing our part this week, showcasing SMEs which have effectively utilised apprenticeships, with the aim of encouraging more small businesses to take that step in the future.”
