Welsh Government announces £53 million fund for creative industries businesses affected by coronavirus

Commenting on the announcement of funding for the creative industries to deal with the impact of Covid-19, Ben Francis, FSB Wales Policy Chair, said:

“More funding for those organisations dealing with the economic impact of Coronavirus is very welcome news.

“We know that many small creative business owners are making incredibly difficult decisions as the crisis continues, and this funding may well prove to be a lifeline.

“We hope to see this funding get to the places where it is needed most. It’s important to remember that the creative sector as a whole relies hugely on the expertise of an army of talented freelancers and SMEs. Without them, the industry as we recognise it simply wouldn’t exist.

“We hope to see all organisations in this sector benefiting from the funding, so that Wales’ arts and culture sector can continue to thrive in the future.”
