FSB London responds to Mayor’s Diesel Vehicle Scrappage Scheme Proposals

FSB London welcomes the Mayor’s proposals for a diesel vehicle scrappage scheme and are pleased that the concerns of our members have been heard. Providing cash support will be helpful for many small and micro businesses who are under several cost pressures in the current economic climate.

FSB London is also pleased to see support for a national leasing guarantor scheme proposed in the Cambridge Economic Policy Associates report for Transport for London and look to secure a solution for London’s small businesses who are in leasing contracts taken out in good faith, facing penalties if the ULEZ introduction date is brought forward, which is a major issue for London SMEs. We hope the proposals will develop to include a discount on ULEZ charges for small firms.

We look forward to working closely with Mayor Khan to ensure that any scheme presented to the Chancellor is set up to provide the additional support small businesses need to upgrade their vehicles.
