FSB Wirral and Ellesmere Port branch elects new Chairman at AGM

Reference number: FSB PR 12/2014

Clive Marshall, owner of TaxAssist Accountants in Wallasey and Bebington, was elected as the new Chairman of the Federation''s Wirral and Ellesmere Port branch at its AGM.

The AGM took place on Wednesday, 19 November at Wirral Radio, Wirral Media Centre in Leasowe. In addition to the formal business, attendees enjoyed a buffet provided by FSB member Sarah Evans of Luscious Fayre and took a tour of the radio station, during which they had the opportunity to learn how some of the broadcasting and recording equipment works.

At the event, small business owners heard about the recent activities carried out by the branch and region, in addition to the FSB''s recently-launched FSB Business Manifesto for the 2015-20 Government and related #ibacksmallbusiness campaign.

Clive, who is also treasurer of the FSB''s Merseyside, West Cheshire and Wigan region, replaces outgoing branch Chairman Paul Molyneux who remains as Vice Chairman.

Clive Marshall said: "Wirral businesses have considerable challenges ahead of them but also many opportunities. We have a General Election on the horizon and I am pleased to be in a position to help local firms and represent their views as new Wirral branch Chairman.

"The FSB is a business support organisation and a leading lobbyist but one of our strengths is bringing our many members together in the spirit of success and profitability. I look forward to building on the busy year we have just had and hope to see many Wirral business owners at our events in the future."

The next local FSB events are the Liverpool and Knowsley (branch) and Merseyside, West Cheshire and Wigan (region) AGMs, to take place concurrently on Wednesday, 26 November at the Liner Hotel, Lord Nelson Street, Liverpool.

Guest speakers will be Brian Wong, founder of the Liverpool Chinese Business Association, and UKTI''s Head of Asia Pacific Development, Philomena Chen.
