FSB leads small business engagement at party conferences

FSB DIARY NOTICE

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) is delighted to announce its high profile events with top level speakers at the Labour party conference in Liverpool and a week later, at the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham.

Small businesses are resilient but these are challenging times. FSB’s latest Small Business Index [1] shows small business confidence is in negative territory for the first time in four years. Business owners feeling confident are outnumbered by those that feel the opposite. However, many immediate economic conditions are improving, with small firms reporting greater access to finance, a rise in new employment and reduced spare capacity in their businesses.

Against this backdrop, small business owners will have the opportunity to take their questions and concerns directly to those policy makers who can influence change.

Date of event at Labour Party Conference: Tuesday 27 September 2016

Our “Small Business Question Time” event is in partnership with the New Statesman. It will be hosted by Jon Bernstein former New Statesman Deputy Editor and audience members will be able to pose questions directly to:

  • John McDonnell MP, Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer
  • Martin McTague, Policy Director, Federation of Small Businesses

Time: 12.30pm – 1.30pm

Location: New Statesmen Hub, Gower Street Carpark, Albert Dock, Liverpool

This event is free to attend, held outside the secure zone and does not require a conference pass.
