FSB Kent and Medway Comment on unrevised GDP figures

Reference number: 121127GDP

Commenting on today''s unrevised second estimate of GDP figures from the ONS, Roger House, FSB Chairman for Kent and Medway, said:

"It is good news that the GDP figure remains unchanged at one per cent growth, but there is still a long way to go. The FSB Kent Small Business Barometer Autumn Barometers revealed that sales had declined for one in three of Kent''s small businesses. The Chancellor must use the Autumn Statement next week to boost confidence. Scrapping the 3p fuel duty increase due at the start of 2013 would be a good first step. Building policies which can help Kent''s small firms create jobs and in turn grow the economy should be the priority to embed this growth."
