Unique and innovative FSB members included in this year's Small Biz 100

From a vintage shop and a flood defence company, to a flag manufacturer and children’s nursery, this year’s Small Biz 100 list includes lots of unique, innovative and interesting FSB members.

The Small Business Saturday 2018 campaign has unveiled their list of 100 fabulous small businesses and self-employed entrepreneurs. A total of 18 FSB members have been chosen for this year’s grassroots campaign, which focuses on those that work with other small firms and support their local community.

Each of the businesses will be promoted on social media in the 100 days running up to Small Business Saturday, which this year will be held on 1 December.

FSB’s National Chairman Mike Cherry said: “A huge congratulations to all those chosen for this year’s Small Biz 100, and it’s great to see so many FSB members included again.

“The list features an impressive array of business from across a range of different sectors, and really reflects the eclectic mix of small firms working hard across the country.

“Small Business Saturday is a great opportunity to celebrate the successes of the 5.7 million small firms and self-employed across the UK. It helps spread the word about the services and products small firms offer their local communities and why they should be supported all year round.”

Michelle Ovens, Director of Small Business Saturday campaign, said: “We were delighted to see so many brilliant small businesses entering this year’s Small Biz 100.

"It’s great to see so many FSB members in this year’s list, and we look forward to celebrating their success in the coming months.”

FSB is a key supporter of the campaign, which is now in its sixth year.

During last year’s campaign, an estimated £748 million was spent with small businesses across the UK, up four per cent from the previous year. A total of 87 per cent of local authorities took part in the event, while more than 115,000 tweets were sent.

#SmallBizSat trended at number one on social media in the UK.
