FSB London Calls on Members to write direct to their MP on Business Rates

Since the launch of the FSB London Business Rates report we have received some excellent media coverage and with an upcoming Budget just around the corner we are calling on members to use a TEMPLATE LETTER to write direct to the Chancellor to urge him to target support for small firms. If you could sign the letter and send to your MP it would help support our lobbying efforts. Thanking you in advance.

New Cycle Super Highway proposed for SE London - your views needed

A new consultation has opened considering proposals for a new segregated cycle route linking Tower Bridge to Greenwich. FSB will be submitting a response and we'd love to hear your views to help us draft it - a simple email to denise.beedell@fsb.org.uk, will be really helpful. Cycle Super Highways seem to record high levels of responses, so we urge Members to submit their own response too, to ensure as many local business voices are heard. To find out more about the proposals and how to respond here. The consultation closes on Sunday 19 November.

Government policies heap pressure on small firms

New research by FSB shows small business outgoings have risen as direct result of public policy decisions over last five years- significantly outpacing inflation. The Impact of Government Policy Index has found a range of Government taxes, reliefs and employer obligations have caused outgoings for smaller firms to rise by an average of 12.5 per cent in the five years to 2016. National chairman Mike Cherry emphasised that policymakers should "take heed of this cumulative burden" when it comes to future policy interventions.
