Join us for a Q&A session with DWP Scotland & Adecco Working Ventures to find out about the UK Government Kickstart Scheme.

Event details

Please join us for a Q&A session hosted by Colin Borland, FSB’s Director of Devolved Nations. Our panel includes Elaine Boyce, Partnership Manager for the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) in Scotland, and Grace Mosuro from Adecco Working Ventures, our partnership intermediary.

The Kickstart Scheme was announced in July as part of the Chancellor’s Plan for Jobs. The scheme aims to create thousands of high-quality six-month work placements for young people aged 16 to 24 who are claiming Universal Credit and are at risk of long term unemployment.

Under the scheme, the Government will cover 100 per cent of employment costs for 25 hours a week. This includes the employee's salary at the appropriate minimum wage for their age, as well as National Insurance and pension contributions.

We are partnering with Adecco Working Ventures to allow small businesses to pool their vacancies allowing them to access the scheme no matter how many opportunities they can offer rather than the 30 needed to apply for the scheme directly.

Through the partnership, Adecco Working Ventures will provide you with the benefit of one of their Kickstart Placement Managers, who have decades of experience at getting young people into work. As well as this personal support, you will also have continuous access to an online portal of resources. For employers, Adecco Working Ventures handle employee wages, recruitment and interview support and complete the administrative requirements of the scheme on your behalf, making the process simple. For all the young people on placements, Adecco Working ventures will ensure quality of support throughout the process and advise on those valuable next steps of re-entering paid, full time employment. The £1500 government grant which goes alongside each work placement under the scheme goes to provide this comprehensive wrap-around support.

Applying is simple and you'll have full support through each stage of the process. Once you have applied, the next step is a call from Adecco Working Ventures to identify your specific situation and needs.
