Hosted by Michelle Masters, Marketing & Training Consultant, we will hear the background stories and future plans of our Women in Enterprise, learning about their challenges and the obstacles they encounter and have overcome as they seek to grow their businesses.

About our Host:
Michelle Masters has run her own Marketing and Training company for the last 12 years. She is a qualified Marketing trainer, Menopause trainer and business mentor. She also project manages on behalf of Carlisle City Council the successful Carlisle Ambassadors programme, which now has over 300 members.
In May last year, Michelle voluntarily set up Small Business Support Carlisle on Facebook, which now has 4000 members. This led her to gain ERDF funding and the 'Buy Local Carlisle' programme was born. Michelle’s latest business venture is a move into the accommodation sector in Cumbria, and Church House Barn opened to visitors in October 2020.

Jane Binnion, The Growing Club CIC, based in Lancaster, designs and delivers employment and enterprise training for women. Inspired by the UN Sustainable Development Goal 8.3 Decent Work, because "when women thrive all of society benefits".
Salma Chaudhry is Director of The Halal Cosmetics Company. The company was founded in 2014 and based in Lancashire. Halacosco develops a range of halal skincare and cleansing products manufactured in the UK. All products are parabens and sls free and also suitable for vegetarians.The business has won several awards, and exports products to several countries including the Middle East, South East Asia and Europe.
Sarah Wood, Freedom Chocolate. Freedom Chocolate is a small family business, handcrafting great tasting, luxury chocolate that is suitable for almost everyone - including vegans and allergy sufferers. Ethically and environmentally focussed and chosen among The Best Vegan Chocolate Bars by The Independent.
Alison Davis, Carlisle Brewing Co. Alison set up Carlisle Brewing Co with her husband Alain in 2013. They make and sell real ale mainly in the North of England, although they can occasionally be found elsewhere in the UK. Their beers are enjoyed and sold in pubs, hotels, restaurants, bars and bistros along with farm shops and garages.
