Event details

During each event we will present our regular update on local support available to Lewisham businesses and an FSB update, ensuring you get the most from your membership, followed by our brief presentation, and then a chance to freely network with other business owners online and via the chat room.

This month our guest presentation will be on the Lewisham Local Carda community development scheme that connects different communities across the Borough. It allows individuals to enjoy discounts in local businesses while funding community projects. The message is Give Local, Shop Local.  The goal is to recognise the invaluable contribution people make towards improving our livelihoods and hopefully motivate others to get involved, since only community supporters can access a card in exchange for putting their time, skills or money back to the community. Paula Segre, Lewisham Local Card Lead, will present this. She is an anthropology and media specialist who coordinates businesses, individuals and community projects for the Lewisham Local Card scheme. Paula has experience with media engagement, communications, design and qualitative analysis, which helps portray the tangible developments of the scheme and gather ideas on how to go forward. Before being assigned to manage the Lewisham Local Card, Paula worked on other Lewisham Local initiatives and thus immersed herself in the community and became familiar with its interests and concerns, which proved an asset when engaging cardholders with current issues and local businesses.

Lewisham Local is a charity whose goal is to better connect communities in the Borough. They work extensively with other community groups, providing support, funding opportunities, and resources
