Junior Software Developer

FSB is seeking a talented Junior Software Developer to join an established and expanding in-house development team. The role involves developing software solutions to achieve business objectives and contribute towards the continual improvement of IT Systems and processes within FSB in this exciting new role.

Hours: 35 per week
Salary: £27,000 + Competitive benefits package

The Role

FSB is currently undergoing an exciting digital transformation programme and reviewing the technology in all areas of our business, so there’s an exciting variety of projects such as Web apps, Azure, API integrations, Microservices, Business Intelligence, database development and mobile applications.

Joining a well-established development team located in Blackpool, you will contribute to FSB’s transformation journey.  You will be involved in all stages of projects, helping to shape and innovate solutions to business problems. 

The Person

Like all software developers you’ll have a solid background in developing code; but you’ll also be someone who enjoys the challenge of using new technologies to define solutions.  You will be organised, self-motivated, have good analytical skills and be a proven problem solver.

The applicant must have:

  • Commercial development experience
  • Experience of delivering multiple projects as a part of a team
  • Experience of developing in C# (ASP.NET, MVC, Web API etc) in a commercial environment
  • Degree Calibre (achieved through formal qualification or equivalent organisational experience)
  • Understanding of the full software life cycle
  • MS SQL Server

Experience in the following is not essential but would be advantageous:

  • .Net Core
  • Secure Web Applications & API’s
  • Microsoft Azure or AWS
  • Testing frameworks
  • Mobile application development
