About the role

Taking on our role of FSB Development Manager is a fantastic opportunity to work for the UK’s leading small business lobbying group and to support the small businesses driving the UK’s economy both locally and nationally.

The successful candidate will provide local support to FSB members and the wider small business community. The role is varied and will include; lobby and campaigning within Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire on behalf of small businesses, working with local government, MPs, and other local stakeholders. You will also raise the profile of the FSB through local media including social, broadcast and print. Local events and business support is also a key part of this role providing networking and business information events for local businesses.

The role is home based and will involve some travel in the surrounding geographical area.

You will be working alongside, and supporting members to ensure that FSBs objectives are delivered. You will also be raising FSB profile through various media channels and networking events and assist Regional Sales Managers attract and retain new members.

In this extremely diverse position, applicants should have experience in one or more of the following, but will be expected to develop in other areas also: Policy and Lobbying, Media and Communications, Public Affairs, marketing and event management. They should also be aware of how local and national government operates and be able to create and drive FSB policy on a local level. The Development Manager role requires the post holder to develop a broad range of skills across various business areas so candidates from a wide range of backgrounds will be considered.

You must have a full valid UK driving licence and appropriate road worthy vehicle suitable for business use.
