Development Manager
Home based – Greater London
Salary £40,019 + benefits
An integral part of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB's) field-based operations team, we are seeking to recruit a Development Manager to promote the organisation and its aims and objectives.  An integral part of the FSB's field-based operations team, you will work closely with the members communicating, engaging, listening to their views and backing their interests through liaison with government at all levels and relevant media making a tangible difference on behalf of members locally.
The main focus of the job is to:

• Identify, research, develop and promote policy on issues as they arise, including representing the FSB with members at external meetings and promoting the advantages of membership.
• Develop a strong presence in the local and regional media to deliver the key messages on national and local campaigns/policies by working closely with the relevant press department.
• Utilise the results of local and national data to identify key business issues in order to support media, advocacy, recruitment and retention activities.
• Provide excellent customer service through effective signposting and provision of relevant information if appropriate when dealing with issues raised by members.
• Develop proactive working relationships with the recruitment team keeping them informed on local activities and highlighting opportunities.
The ideal candidate, of graduate calibre, will demonstrate a sound understanding of the challenges and issues facing small businesses along with experience in implementing campaigns.  It is important to understand the decision making process in local government bodies and you will have a proven ability to develop trusting relationships across a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.  It is essential that you are self-motivated and able to prioritise a diverse workload.  You must have a full driving licence and access to a car for regular travel within the area plus the facility to offer suitable home office workspace.  Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.

Project Manager (12 months fixed term)

Salary £42,000 - £45,000 + benefits
We are seeking to recruit a Project Manager for an initial fixed term period of 12 months to manage changes to IT systems and business processes, becoming an integral part of the IT and Change department.
The Challenge:
• Responsible and accountable for the successful delivery of projects, and the allocation of resources across projects.
• Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents.
• Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team and manage project dependencies and critical path.
The Candidate:
• Should be of degree calibre with PRINCE2 accreditation and demonstrable experience of managing IT and/or business change projects.
• Will have a strong track record of successful project delivery with experience in managing budgets and suppliers.
• Will be a strong communication with excellent influencing skills and a sound understanding of Software and Hardware Infrastructures.
• A flexible approach is essential due to the role requiring you to undertake regular travel throughout the UK along with occasional evening and weekend work.

Appointment Maker
Head Office, Blackpool
Salary £15,000 - £16,000pa + bonus + benefits (OTE £21,600pa)

We are seeking to recruit three sales orientated, experienced and enthusiastic Appointment Makers to join our new Contact Centre.  You will be responsible for achieving sales targets through inbound and proactive outbound telephone activity along with negotiating to book appointments or complete a membership.
The Challenges:
• Make outbound telephone calls focussing on the acquisition of new memberships.
• Receive inbound telephone calls from in response to marketing activity.
• Respond to needs identified on the call, and maximise sales opportunities, most of which will be focused on either booking an appointment or completing a membership.
• Negotiate and close financial transactions and booking of appointments over the telephone with key decision makers.
• Ability to handle sales calls with both warm and cold data and customer service type calls.
The Ideal Candidate:
• Ideally have considerable relevant experience working in a Contact Centre, ideally having worked within an appointment booking environment.
• You will have evidence of working in a sales driven department working to targets and KPI's, with proven communication, influencing and organisational skills.
• A flexible approach is essential due to the role requiring shifts between 8am – 8pm, occasional travel throughout the UK and occasional evening and weekend work.

 Interim Project Portfolio Manager
12-18 month contract
Head Office, Blackpool
Salary circa £80,000 + benefits
The FSB are seeking to recruit an experienced Project Portfolio Manager to assume overall responsibility for a wide range of business change projects.
The Challenge:
  • Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for defining and delivering a portfolio of business change and improvement projects which support the organisation in achieving its commercial objectives.
  • To ensure the effective prioritisation of multiple strategic change projects.
  • To support managers within the organisation with Project Management responsibility to ensure that best practice project management methodologies and processes are utilised, leading to the delivery of projects on time and within budget.
  • To engage and collaborate with key project and programme stakeholders throughout the organisation whilst ensuring that regular updates on progress are reported to the National Council of Directors.
  • To maintain overall responsibility for the management of budgets and monitoring of expenditure against targets.
The Candidate:
  • You should be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering multiple strategic business transformation projects on time and within budget.
  • You are likely to be educated to Degree level and should hold a formal Project Management qualification such as Prince 2 or APM Accreditation.
  • You should have experience of delivering commercial projects with revenue generation as a core project deliverable.
  • Your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to influence and persuade others in order to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Must be capable of communicating effectively across all levels with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
