Welcome to the Thames Valley Policy page. The objectives of the Thames Valley policy group is to represent small businesses at a regional level to ensure their needs are considered. We also support the branches at a local level to ensure the needs of small businesses are considered by local authorities, MP's and other decision making bodies.

Tony Baldry MP wins FSB Small Business Friendly Award 2009

Tony Baldry MP for Banbury & Bicester was delighted to be recognised by FSB Thames Valley for being the most active advocate of small businesses in speeches made in the House of Commons during 2007/8. Tony accepted the "Small Business Friendly Award" from Robin Lawrence, FSB Thames Valley Regional Chairman.

Tony Baldry came top of the league table emphasising his commitment to local businesses. He was followed by Richard Benyon MP Newbury and David Cameron MP Witney. Full report here
FSB urges local authorities to protect their communities
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has launched a Small Business Manifesto to press local authorities to champion small businesses ahead of local elections in England on 4th June 2009
The UK's biggest business organisation will focus its local election lobbying on the campaign to Keep Trade Local, which seeks to protect small businesses from unfair planning laws, draconian parking restrictions in town centres and the breakdown of local economies.

FSB launches Every Crime Every Time Campaign
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), in partnership with the Coalition Against Crime, launches a major new national campaign to increase reporting of crime against businesses. Thousands of businesses are being encouraged to keep a record of every crime they are a victim of, no matter how small, and to report it to the police.
