How does GraduateOn work?
GraduateOn brings together businesses looking for short-term recruits and graduates who are hoping to put their newly acquired skills into practice with a local firm. This offer is available to all companies within West Sussex and neighboring counties. If you employ someone for a minimum of 10 weeks with a salary of at least £8 per hour you will receive a £1,000 subsidy and £750 for anyone paying between minimum wage and £7.99 (terms and conditions apply)
How will the University support me?
We will advertise your job vacancy for free to the graduates on our database, on various graduate recruitment websites and in several SE Coast University Careers Departments. All responses are filtered through the GraduateOn team so you aren't bombarded with CV's, but you interview and select from the best applicants.
What is the commitment I make as an employer?
There is no commitment to you to employ the graduate after the internship, although we can negotiate longer intern durations if needed. Businesses are expected to cover expenses and pay a negotiated rate for the graduate's services.

Graduate Internships
The Prime Minister announced the creation of 5,000 graduate internship placements amongst small businesses in his Conference address in September 2009. The FSB called for the scheme and agreed to support and promote this scheme amongst its membership. More than half of FSB members have told us that they want to employ new staff in the future. This is a chance to take on a skilled graduate with support from the university sector.
The scheme officially went live in February after Universities underwent a bidding process to be a part of the £13.6million scheme. Universities are offering a variety of incentives to employers within the South East Region and for more information on each scheme, please go to our website http://www.fsb.org.uk/graduateinternships to see which university is offering the best internship offer for your business. The University contact within the careers service will act as a matching service, joining together eligible businesses and graduates with the right skills, experience and requirements. They may also be able to help businesses to, for instance, identify and develop the projects that the graduate intern could undertake, and help turn a project idea into an actual vacancy. A national single point of contact is in place to guide members through the process. The phone number is 0845 072 7597 and the email address is Internship-enquiries@graduatetalentpool.co.uk please remember to say that you are an FSB member and want to take on a graduate within a small business.
