Data Protection Awareness - Lower in Small Businesses

New research from the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) reveals that small businesses have a much lower awareness of the principles of the Data Protection Act than larger organisations.  To help small businesses understand their obligations under the Act, the Information Commissioner has launched additional guidance aimed specifically at this sector.

The guidance is one of a series of short Good Practice Notes published by the ICO that are designed to help small and medium sized businesses and explain data protection in simple terms.
