STOP PRESS - IMPORTANT INFORMATION from HMRC
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) has issued an alert to VAT-registered businesses across the UK about important changes that come into effect this spring.
From 1 April 2012, all VAT-registered businesses must send their VAT returns online and pay their VAT electronically. Currently, only newly-registered businesses, and those with turnovers of more than £100,000, have to file and pay their VAT online.
The new rules will cover VAT returns filed for accounting periods beginning on or after 1 April 2012.

The FSB has launched its new campaign, Real Life Entrepreneurs, which aims to show that the real entrepreneurs in the UK are not the celebrities, but business people like those in our membership.

Surrey County Council On-street Parking Charges
We are pleased to announce that Surrey County Council announced a ‘U' turn on their Surrey on-street parking charge proposals. This change of mind is a direct result of FSB pressure along with local business organisations as well as our Hon. National Chairman, John Walker himself a Surrey resident. This is a great example of the FSB working for you. Read the Council statement here
