Superfast Broadband News from BT
BT has announced that a further 65,000 homes and businesses in the South West now have access to
faster broadband services.
Brixham and neighbouring Churston, Dartmouth and Colyton are among
the latest communities in the region to benefit from the roll-out of BT's next generation
broadband service delivered over copper lines.
The BT investment makes available download speeds of up to 20 megabits
per second (Mbps) – more than double the speed previously available from BT. It is already
available for about two thirds of South West homes and businesses.
Other Devon communities earmarked for faster broadband later this year include
Ottery St Mary, Seaton, South Molton, Colaton Raleigh, Crediton, Cullompton, Instow,
Tiverton, Axminster and Ivybridge
This is further good news and an important step forward for the communities based in your area. Availability of faster broadband will help the competitiveness of local businesses, as well as improving the online experience for families and homeworkers.
