SW FSB develops policy using a 'focus group' style of working. The intent is to involve as many members as possible.
The process starts with the creation of a 'Discussion Document' which provides background information and asks questions about the issue under consideration. This document is circulated amongst SW FSB members in branches and in regions for 3 months. The comments are then discussed by the SW Policy Unit and the conclusions written up.
This process enables more members to get involved in developing policy. It also highlights issues and provides detail which is just not avaiable from 'Barriers'.
FSB Regions and branches are invited to use these documents for policy discussions. Feedback would be very welcome.
