York Branch Meeting At Riverside Farm (Pub/Restaurant),

First of all, Happy New Year for 2012, I hope you had great Christmas and New Year.

Many thanks to all who came to the Branch Meeting at The Riverside, Skelton in January. It was great to see you all and thank you to Anne Litenmann from Litenmann Consulting for her interesting and entertaining presentation.

 

In February we welcome Nick Burrell from the Virtual College PLC. Based in Ilkley Virtual College is one of the UK's leaders in e-learning with over 650,000 people whohave used the courses that range from Food Hygiene, to Child Safety, Asbestos Awareness and 17th Edition for Electricians Nick will talk about the funding available for SMEs both for training and apprenticeships.

 

We will also be hearing from our own York Branch Real Life Entrepreneurs. At Venturefest FSB North Yorkshire will be launching the National Real Life Entrepreneur campaign and this is our opportunity to show case the York Branch and its members. The best ideas have humble beginnings and the smallest businesses often take the biggest risks. Anyone who has a good idea and takes a risk to put that idea into practice and grows a business, is an entrepreneur. These are the people – the Real-Life Entrepreneurs – Who we champion. This is your opportunity to tell your story, get inspiration and champion the cause.

 

6.30pm The meeting will start with food and tea/coffee and networking.

Members are charged a nominal £3.00 for the food etc and only £5.00 for non members – the funds raised go towards the running of the branch.

Once again, we would ask members to kindly donate prizes for our monthly raffle which raises funds for our chosen charity – The Georgina Grace Trust. Your generosity is very much appreciated.
