New! Have your say: Consultation for the Review of Apprenceships – DEL Call for Submissions - scroll down for more information
Welcome to the FSB Northern Ireland Policy Homepage.
Small businesses are at the core of the local economy. They account for 99.9% of all businesses in Northern Ireland and provide employment for around 347,000 people. It is these firms that will drive forward economic recovery and the FSB will continue to lobby and advise on the policies and legislation required to achieve this.
Since the inception of the Assembly the FSB has enjoyed a good working relationship with all the political parties, delivering positive benefits for small businesses, such as Small Business Rates Relief, and the simplified Workplace Disputes Resolution process.
We look forward to cementing these connections even further as we work together in the coming months and years to create the conditions that will rebuild our economy after one of the deepest periods of recession in history.

Chairman, Northern Ireland Policy Unit

Consultation for the Review of Apprenceships – Call for Submissions
The Department for Employment and Learning is seeking your views on the future of apprenticeships in Northern Ireland.
The review looks to ensure apprenticeships reflect the changing nature of the Northern Ireland economy and that they are recognised as a highly regarded qualification and on a par with existing academic routes.
Our economy is changing and the jobs of tomorrow will require higher level skills, across a wider range of occupations. The review provides an opportunity to match skills to the specific needs of employers - to ensure we have a world class system that supports our economy. Make sure you have your say.
