What is the FSB?

The FSB is a collection of small businesses from every business sector in the UK. We come together with a single voice and common purpose - to improve the UK small business environment.

What does the FSB do?

We're the UK's largest campaigning pressure group, promoting and protecting the interests of the self-employed and owners of small firms. We're highly regarded as an extremely effective lobbying organisation.

Member Benefits

Because we represent so many businesses we can negotiate discounts when associating ourselves with suppliers of business services. We've developped a vast range of Member Benefits, some of which are free.

How does the FSB work?

We are unique bacause we are owned and run by our members. Active members volunteer their time to lobby their local Councillors and MPs on behalf of their local membership.

Regions, Branches & Committees

To effectively run the FSB in Scotland, the country is split into 4 Regions. Each Region represents an average of 5000 members. The Regions are then split into numerous Branches depending on the number of members in that location.

Active Membership

Many members are passionate about small business issues and want to get more involved. Any member can become active through their local Branch, even if you have little time to spare.

Your Regional Organiser

Running alongside the member-led committee structure is a supportive staff structure. Each Region has a fulltime, paid employee who supports FSB activities in the Branchs and Regions - this is the Regional Organiser (RO).

The Scottish Press & Parliamentary Office

These dedicated staff work with the Scottish media, institutions and politicians to promote member interests at all levels of Scottish Government. The Scottish Policy Unit are responsible for deciding upon, and publicising, our official response to Scottish business issues (See: Where We Stand).
