More MPs sign up as Champions!
The Real-Life Entrepreneurs campaign is getting great support from MPs across the region. Already in May we have had Wirral South Alison McGovern, (seen below with Development Manager Neil Dutton), and Warrington North MP Helen Jones sign up as RLE Champions! Alison and Helen join a growing list of MPs to have signed up, and more meetings are in the diary for the next few weeks!
It's great to have these MPs behind us, helping small business issues to be addressed at Westminster and providing vital extra help to local lobbying activities.
Fast Track to Success!
25 FSB members from the Liverpool City Region took the news of a double-dip recession with a pinch of salt in April, preferring to focus on the real work of growing and developing their businesses.
They formed a delegation of Federation of Small Businesses members that on April 26th travelled from Lime Street to the offices of "Liverpool in London", the Liverpool Vision supported initiative to give Liverpool businesses a foothold in the capital.
At the offices they were joined by over 20 FSB members from London, all keen to hear more about the advantages of doing business with Liverpool companies and in the City Region, as well as Liverpool Councillor and entrepreneur Gary Millar, Wavertree MP Luciana Berger and Liverpool's "Entrepreneur in Residence", Mike Southon.
FSB Liverpool & Knowsley Branch Chairman Brian Sweeney said, "We are extremely grateful to the Liverpool in London team and our London FSB colleagues for their hard work in making this event such a success. Everyone who attended has made some powerful new connections. At this time of recession it was great to see FSB members doing what they do best – getting on with business".
The trip was part of the FSB's "Real Life Entrepreneurs" campaign and the delegates heard from FSB National Chairman John Walker and National Vice Chairman John Allan as part of the day.
Throughout 2012 the FSB Merseyside, West Cheshire & Wigan Region will be hosting 'Real-Life Entrepreneur' events to get members networking and making new contacts, attract new members, raise the FSB profile and highlight local and national small business issues with decison-makers and other influencing and lobbying organisations.
