Teamwork Triumphs for ‘FSB Connect' Event Management
The FSB Connect team now have two events under their belts and are busy planning the next one to be held on 19th September in Peterborough. The success of the first events in Lincoln and Forest Pines comes from the dedication of the team together with a systematic approach to ensure that nothing gets missed.
A special ‘Action Planning' template ensures they can see at a glance what tasks have been allocated and deadlines for completion. The template also ensures that things can be managed in an orderly fashion and shows progress as time goes on.
In line with the new way of doing things epitomised by FSB Connect they utilise technology whenever possible. So meetings are often conducted as ‘tele – conferences' over Skype and documents are saved and shared using Dropbox.com.
The usual forms of event advertising such as regional emails and the website are supplemented with messages shared on Twitter and LinkedIn.

The FSB Stand at this year's County Show
Over sixty thousand visitors and unusually pleasant summer weather guaranteed another memorable year for the 129th Lincolnshire Show 2013 which has been hailed a success by the show organisers at the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society. The FSB hospitality marquee provided the perfect location for officers of the Regional and Branch Committees to welcome and entertain existing members and potential new members. Representatives from many of the organisations that we work with also called in as did other exhibitors from the show. The event proved to be an excellent networking opportunity, particularly as colleagues from FSB Member Services and FSB Recruitment were on hand to answer queries and support the local team in providing an excellent visitor experience. At the last count over twenty new members have been signed up following attendance at the show with several good prospects to be followed up.
Next door in the ‘FSB Marketplace' marquee twenty business members had taken advantage of a low cost trade stand to showcase their business and win valuable new customers. Dan Smith of ‘Grand Design' was there to gain appointments with homeowners needing kitchen design services. Georgina from ‘Water Babies' was particularly proud of their photographs of babies swimming underwater which is part of the swimming training plan for infants from birth to aged four years. Both ‘Wil-Lec' and ‘Infinite Lighting' had impressive displays of their electrical products and ‘Enrichyou' was on hand for development coaching. Just to prove the variety of other services available, ‘ASC Finance' was there to help with business funding.
