For businesses established within the last two years (start date after 1st January 2008) demonstrating a high degree of entrepreneurship and vision for the future.  Entrants will be asked to explain the background to the business; how the company has performed since starting and what its future projections are.

You must be able to show how your business has progressed in line with your business plan and what potential there is for growth. Success will be proven by you and your employees having a clear understanding of your products, competitors and the marketplace in which the business operates. You should also display good managerial and financial practice.

The judges will be looking to identify a business that has set and achieved objectives within business plans, overcome obstacles and established a position of sustainable profitability and success.

What the judges need to know

RESEARCH - What type of preparation did you undertake before you started your business?

CHALLENGES - What business challenges have you experienced so far and how have you met/overcome them?

BUSINESS PLAN -  What business plans do you have for the next three years of trading?

UNIQUE - What unique attributes does your business have that will ensure you continue to trade for the next three years?

MARKETING - How do you inspire your customers to believe in your products or services?

SUCCESS - What level of commercial success have you achieved so far?
