This is an FSB Funded Charity for the Express Benefit and Relief of the FSB Members.
At the July 2010 National Council meeting, the Prime Charitable Trust (the Trust) was selected as the FSB's charity for the next three years.
This independent Trust was originally set up in1989 and the Trustees are David Dexter, Bernard Juby and Bill Knox. The principal charitable objective is"The relief of financial need amongst members or former members, including family members or persons dependent on them, who, due to illness, incapacity or some other cause, are unable to maintain themselves"
To further this objective, the Trustees aim to:a) provide financial assistance, goods and/or services;b) provide residential accommodation at low cost and maintenance and improve the same;c) assist young people, as aforesaid, who are in financial need to receive training to enable them to earn a living.
Over the years the Trustees have made grants and loans to applicants who have demonstrated severe need but the Trustees have had to exercise extreme discretion due to the limited funds available to the Trust.
Following the recent recession, and the current difficult economic times, the Trustees believe that there may well be many more calls upon the Charity to assist ailing members.
In view of this any donations to the Charity would be most graciously received. You would have the knowledge that the ultimate use of these funds would be to benefit members or former members of the FSB and/or their families.
Arrangements for personal donations under 'Gift Aid' have been made and a 'Gift Aid' form
is available. By using this form the Trust will be able to reclaim tax on your donation plus a further supplement at present being offered by the Government on charitable donations.
