How much does your council spend with local businesses?

In 2008 Essex FSB surveyed all councils in Essex, Havering and Redbridge to find out how much of their annual revenue budget they spent with firms within their council boundary and how much they spent with firms in the Essex FSB Region.

Council contracts can be a good source of reliable income for many businesses which is why Essex FSB is working closely with councils to make as many contracts as possible available to local firms.

Procurement League Table

The results were published in a league table and showed some big variations!

A national FSB survey is now underway to produce a national league table and a Keep Trade Local Manifesto on Procurement has been published containing the Essex figures as an example of good practice.
