Prompt payment of invoices is a great help for cash flow for any business.
The FSB supports the Prompt Payment Code and encoruages all suppliers to sign up to the Code.
Tips to Get Paid Quicker
Businesses can follow some simple steps to make sure they get paid quicker by suppliers:
- issue the invoice as soon as the work is done - if possible electronically
- make sure the invoice is accurate, clear and quotes any order numbers or other references
- give your bank details so payments can be made electronically
Payment Terms
Another part of the campaign has been encouraging public sector organisations to pay their invoices from suppliers in Essex, Havering and Redbridge quicker than the usual 30 days.
These are the results so far:
Paying within 10 days of receiving invoice:
- Basildon and Thurrock NHS Trust
- Essex Police
- Havering Council
- Rochford Council
- Thurrock Council
- Uttlesford Council.
Paying within 15 days of receiving invoice:
Paying within 20 days of receiving invoice:
- Brentwood Council
- Castle Point Council
- Epping Forest Council.
Paying within 21 days of receiving invoice:
